Yesterday I met with an amazing woman, Cathy, who is part of the design thinking movement in Hawaii. She works with students, teachers, and business professionals to create innovative approaches to learning and problem solving that are effective and have real-world application.
Cathy introduced me to the Stanford d.school (otherwise known as the Institute of Design at Stanford) and their refreshing take on creativity. Just the stuff they have posted on their website is pretty inspiring already. They’ve got a couple of great online resources for freeĀ - Bootcamp Bootleg! - and the rest I can’t wait to check out in person one day!
I think the d.school has already held one or two seminars in Hawaii c/o Design Thinking Hawaii and there are future events in the works! I will keep you folks posted as I hear more. For now, here’s a quick video that captures a bit about what the d.school and design thinking are all about.
